A LITTLE ABOUT ME

It all started with instagram. No, really. I got onto instagram with my iphone and started thinking creatively about shots i was taking. I started appreciating little things in the world that my eyes weren't open to before. I got compliments on my shots and I said to my fiance (pictured with me), if i can take photo's like this with my iphone, imagine what i could do with a DSLR? So that Christmas, guess what I got? Yup :) 

I started off only using it on Auto and taking creative shots and playing with composition. When my Sister-In-Law was due to have her baby i made a goal to learn how to use the camera settings so that i won't need to use flash when I was photographing the newborn. I stayed up night after night studying aperture, shutter speed, f stops etc. and began to be able to use my camera and change settings without thinking about it. With encouragement from my fiance, family and friends i decided to take my hobby further and start my own business. I'm excited to be able to spend more time doing something i absolutely love and learning more as i go.

I love working with natural light and families. I try to make my shots look less posed and more candid, like i'm capturing moments of your everyday life. To me those are such precious memories to catch, when you look at those over posed family photos where you are all wearing the same clothes and smiling your cheesey smile, they're nice, but they don't have your personality.
